3) What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I researched into ‘Twisted Pictures’ as a distributer for our film as they are an independent film company and also we only have a small budget to work with. They are best known for creating the ‘Saw’ film series, and are renowned for mainly producing films in the horror/thriller genre.

I chose this company as they feature independent films and should be interesting in producing our film as it has an original storyline, and our film is also a thriller genre so it should appeal to this production company.

‘Submerged’ is an independent film produced by ‘Twisted pictures’. The film is a thriller and the storyline is about A young woman and her friends, who've been targeted by kidnappers, must do everything they can to survive after their limo is forced off the road and plunged into a canal. This film would appeal to a younger audience 15-25, this is around the same age as the demographic we’re trying to appeal to.

Another production company that could produce our film is ‘Warp Films’. They are an independent production company that mainly produces films that have original storylines, and films that can be quite controversial. ‘Warp Films’ are based in Sheffield so they are local and we could work with them quite closely when producing our film.                                                                                                          They have produced films such as ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’, this is also a thriller film so it relates to the genre of our film and may appeal to the production company so there’s a more likely chance that they would fund our film.
