Shot Definitions
180 degree rule-the 180 degree rule is where the camera can't go over an imaginary line that has been drawn between two characters, this is so it doesn't disorientate the audience by changing the background, and make the characters look like they're talking to each other and not themselves.
Shot reverse shot-commonly used when characters are involved in a conversation, it allows the audience to see the response from the characters. The camera films over the shoulder of character A whilst focusing on character B, this then switches when the other character replies.
Match on action-match on action is important for continuity editing, as the audience will be able to tell if the actions don't match the last scene. It's where an action is started in one shot and continued into the next shot.
